The new ATD Master Performance Consultant™ Program will take place on May 02-05, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Assess your current strengths in performance-consulting competency areas and roles, such as expert, advisor, coach, facilitator, and more, and identify opportunities for ongoing improvement.
  • Apply ATD’s performance-consulting framework, which includes ethics, critical competencies, process, methodology, tools, relationship management, engagement management, and specializations, to enhance your ability to improve clients’ individual, team, or organizational performance.
  • Establish and maintain a trusting relationship with the client and key stakeholders during an engagement, and beyond the life of a project.
  • Use proven methodologies and tools to gain client alignment and commitment, capture goals and performance gaps, identify key performers, analyze human performance, recognize positive and negative influences on performance, and document findings.
  • Become acquainted with additional tools that performance consultants use, including benchmarking, business case, balanced scorecard, and problem solving.
  • Use effective human performance improvement data analysis, consolidation, and decision-making methods to derive defensible workplace performance findings, reveal trends and patterns of key performance, and make recommendations.
  • Use effective presentation techniques to report findings and recommendations and gain agreement from decision makers to move forward.
  • Select and design the most appropriate performance solutions that align with recommendations, close performance gaps, have a high probability of success, and will meet or exceed the client’s originally stated needs and business goal(s).
  • Lead, align with, or advise others on planning and implementing solutions that meet client requirements.
  • Lead, align with, or advise others in evaluating and measuring the success and impact of solutions on original client business goals.
  • Assist clients in planning for and improving the readiness of their organizations to benefit from the changes that are triggered by solution implementation.
  • Use engagement-management skills to enhance project success and bring an engagement to a successful conclusion.

Barbara GreensteinBarbara Greenstein- Barbara Greenstein, principal of Human Resource Prescriptions, is a performance improvement specialist providing proven and creative ways to improve human performance in the workplace. By identifying issues and opportunities for improvement, she helps organizations large and small meet their planned goals.

Barbara is highly regarded for her facilitation and instructional design skills. With over 20 years of experience in the training and development field, her mission is to help clients put the systems in place that will help them manage effectively in today's changing business environment while ensuring optimal performance and job satisfaction for all employees.

Prior to becoming an external consultant, Barbara's corporate experience included training and instructional design for Burger King Corporation, Pizza Hut, and Electronic Data Systems (EDS). She completed her undergraduate work in consumer affairs and management at Florida International University and received a master's degree in human resource development, as well as graduate certificates in instructional design and total quality management (TQM) from Marymount University.

Barbara is an adjunct professor for the master's program in human resources at Chapman University in San Diego. She has also served as a facilitator for the University of San Diego's master's program in executive leadership program. In addition, she is a Certified Performance Technologist (CPT), a certification awarded through the International Society of Performance Improvement (ISPI) and the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD). Barbara is past president of the San Diego chapter of ASTD and an active member of ISPI.
