The Change Management Certificate program will take place on May 04-05, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Conduct diagnostic assessments and other forms of data gathering to define the change efforts needed.
  • Analyze data to provide feedback to help clients clarify outcomes, establish expectations, and identify realistic boundaries.
  • Understand change management theories, such as systems thinking and open systems theory, chaos and complexity theory, appreciative inquiry, action research, communication theory, and motivation theory.
  • Select an appropriate change model and design a strategic plan for change that minimizes the impact on people and maximizes buy-in.
  • Create implementation designs that involve and inspire formal and informal leaders.
  • Develop communication plans that raise awareness, build commitment, and ensure understanding.
  • Manage consequences that may occur, such as conflict, resistance, negativity, and complacency.

Facilitator Information

Nelson SantiagoNelson Santiago – Nelson R. Santiago is a talent and leadership development leader with more than 20 years of experience working with all organizational levels creating, promoting, and delivering training solutions designed to enhance organizations’ business and strategic plans. Nelson is passionate about creating an interactive and authentic learning environment that supports development and employee engagement.

Nelson serves as an independent leadership and talent development consultant assisting organizations with developing, delivering, and coaching leadership programs in support of organizational business outcomes. Prior to this role, Nelson served at several government agencies, including North Carolina Municipalities, the U.S. Coast Guard, the State of North Carolina Human Resources, and the Abu Dhabi government, designing and delivering successful programs in leadership and management development, team building, diversity, communications, customer service, change management, performance management, and many other topics. His work has always been focused on meeting the strategic needs of the organization. Nelson’s outstanding strengths include leadership, communication, facilitation, coaching, and emotional intelligence.

Nelson has a bachelor of arts degree in psychology and currently holds certifications as ATD Master Trainer, Fish Philosophy Facilitator, DDI Certified Facilitator, and Gallup’s Certified Strengths Coach. .

Credits

  • Earn 1.4 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) upon successfully completing this program.
  • This program may be eligible for up to 14 CPLP recertification points for the face-to-face version and 12 CPLP recertification points for the online version.
  • This program may be eligible for up to 14 APTD recertification points for the face-to-face version and 12 APTD recertification points for the online version.
  • This program has been pre-approved for 14 (General) recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR, and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.
