Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the ATD 2024 International Conference & EXPO. For decades, ATD has gathered thousands of talent development professionals from around the world to collaborate, network, and learn together at our premier annual event.
As the event has grown, ATD has relied more and more on the generosity of our community and volunteers willing to take on extra duties and requests to support ATD and our annual conference. In recent years, that meant that an average of 200 people each year volunteered their time and energy to support the conference’s on-site activities.
As the conference needs have changed over the years, more responsibility has fallen on the volunteers, which at times has led to some unanticipated challenges. Also, in recent years we’ve experienced more volunteer cancellations than ever before, which in some cases placed more of a burden on volunteers who were able to fulfill their volunteer commitment each day.
After careful consideration and an evaluation of the staffing and workforce needs of the conference as it continues to grow, the volunteer program for the International Conference will be discontinued in 2024 and ATD will support the needs of the conference in other ways.
The ATD team is incredibly thankful to our global community and to everyone who has volunteered for an International Conference in past years. If you were planning to apply for the program this year to provide a lower-cost option to attend the event, we want to offer you an option to join ATD in New Orleans.
To potentially qualify for a reduced rate, you must meet the following criteria:
- Have volunteered at ATD’s International Conference & Exposition in the last three years (ATD21, ATD22, or ATD23)
- Confirm you were planning to volunteer in New Orleans
- Confirm that your employer will not cover any of your conference registration fees, and that without access to a reduced registration rate, you would be unable to attend ATD24

Once you’ve submitted your form and we have confirmed your eligibility for a reduced rate as a thank you for your past service and your willingness to volunteer again, a member of ATD staff will reach out to provide a code that you can use on our website to register for ATD24 in New Orleans.
